That is a good question Birdman. Getting ready for relief apperances is different from starting a game. Different amount of strength training, long toss, etc. There is different programs of weight training, stretching, and throwing for relief pitchers and rtarting pitchers. Adcock also is a Rule 5 pick that came straight from the low Minor Leagues. I am just thankful he pitched well and I wouldn't have cried if he went 6 or 7 innings. You just don't want to kill a young arm in a season that doesn't mean much right now. I personally could give a shit about pitch counts or all that. I would throw a guy out there until a guys arm flies into a million pieces some even all the way to Platte City, but I see why they are careful. Don't want to MECHE him.
