I do mostly what I want to do everyday. I get mad at myself for eating a bit too much, but I do my best not to do that. My main actions that I try to do day in and day out is to pray, grow, and you know...just try to play nice with others. One thing I have found that creates a sense of urgency is if you put scarcity thinking into play. Like sometimes I don't like to go out...ahhhhh my friends will always be there. So then I get lazy and I don't go out. I can change my thinking into scarcity thinking to make a sense of urgency...I will use the example of going out to see friends
My friends are out, but I can always see them tomorrow -no urgency..abundant amount of time
I don't know how many more weekends I have left with my friends..we are getting old -Scarcity thinking..more urgency.
You can use these principles to really get your ass moving. I damn sure use urgency to get out of my house. I only have 54 weekends a year to go out and really see places packed with people. I have to make this count. That is when I want to get my ass in gear I can really get myself moving. Sometimes I retro-actively use this logic to make myself not regret something I did..If I didn't go out I will tell myself "Oh well there is always next week"
Where this type of thinking really would help is if you had some 21 year old dude constantly blowing up some lame average girl because he is scared that he won't get another one...THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER ONE. You can create some different thought patterns to help yourself cope in better ways..ways you can be proud of. I know that I use some of these mind games to really work hard when it is time to work. Make hay when the sun is shining. As I write this I understand I blab and it all seems like pointless information. Some of my thoughts (lots of Raymond and Jamie's thoughts) as well have weaved themselves into my actions and have given "K" and some others that I know real power to improve their lives. "K" in turn parrots some of my thought patterns and who knows maybe my thoughts and my actions will really make the next generation of men better people.
